UI / Marketing Designer
Three years as Netlify’s Marketing and UI Designer, covering almost everything the brand put out. I worked on two rebrands, including the full identity for the Jamstack across Jamstack.org and Jamstack Conf, and built the design system behind it. Day to day that meant illustrated mascots and stickers, OG images, newsletters, PDFs, banners and social campaigns, plus print for several live events. I also helped shape the brand guidelines and the reusable components the rest of the team designed with.
Netlify has gone through several rebrands since my start in 2019. In this last one, I was part of helping choose the colors and create key UI elements all over the site, unifying an Icon System, leading Illustration workshops to figure out the style, and a Design System Council to bridge marketing and the app together.
Having an established design system, we could scale our designs not only into web, but also marketing and promo components. Having a single source of truth helped keep designs consistent across all platforms.
Netlify had an ever-growing community that needed a more fun side touch, and this is where the Netlipets came in! Each team inside Netlify had a set of pets as their own mascot. These were also used within the answers forum .
