Design Lead
I’m the lead designer for Prisma.io. We’ve done a whole rebrand TWICE since I started in 2022, revamping marketing material, animations and guiding and collaborating with the front-end team and an external design agency. The main task has been to give Prisma a fresh and modern look, with a unified cohesive design library, and proper documentation for the rest of the team to serve from.
After our first rebrand we realised that the design from Web and Console are fairly apart from each other. So we decided to unify the systems into ONE, allowing us to use the same tokens for web and console at the same time.
Eclipse lives on the web, on its own Github Repo so it can be accessed and updated from anywhere at any time. This online design library allows us to have a very quick visual and comprehensive guide to the library, tokens and css.
Experimenting with our different styles, we came across a system that we could reuse. Isometric style. 3 different sizes. Things that we can use in a systematic way, scale and place in diverse scenarios.
Transferring from the older design system to the new Eclipse design system was relatively easy and effortless. This new design system allows us to be able to create new pages and assets 3x faster than before. Because everything is documented, and scalable, there’s very little guesswork involved and web, product and programmers are all in line for production.
With the new typography and tokens, the new style was transferred into a lot of the marketing posts, blog images, OG, YouTube videos and so on.
Using Claude Design’s new tools to parse and use our Eclipse design system to build pages and assets.
Claude Code reads the Eclipse tokens straight from the repo, so a prompt returns a page already wired to our real colours, spacing and components rather than an approximation of them.
Looking at Rive’s powerful animation engine, and how similar it works to the good ol’ Flash, we made animations for most headers and some illustrations within the website.
Over the past 2 years, we’ve built different libraries, components and design deliverables being used online, and also for our company offsites.
